After keeping poultry from a young age, including breeding and showing, Sam decided to go straight into a career as a poultry vet after graduating from The University of Nottingham Veterinary School in July 2019. Throughout vet school, aside from being well known as ‘chicken boy’, Sam gained many placements in poultry including an externship at the Poultry Diagnostic and Research Centre, University of Georgia, USA! He has been very interested in all elements of the poultry farming industry and has gained a vast amount of knowledge from working with Avivets!
Poultry isn’t his only passion; when not in practice Sam enjoys playing tennis, producing vegetables in the garden and hitting the gym! He grew up in hilly West Yorkshire so is always looking to get out and conquer some climbs on the road bike too.

Suzy started her veterinary career in 2014 after graduating from Nottingham University. An internship in poultry medicine quickly led onto a full-time position as a poultry vet, mainly working in Shropshire and the surrounding area. This proved great experience for Suzy and she gained a broad overview of what poultry medicine has to offer during this time.
Moving home to Cumbria allowed Suzy to pursue a role in poultry data science which has helped shape her clinical approach, especially when working with broiler farmers. Her family are involved in free-range egg production so an interest in this sector has naturally evolved.
Days off are well spent looking after her young son who is very “supportive” of her blooming passion for gardening. Watching Formula 1 is something she and her husband enjoy when there is time.

Beth is studying towards specialist status to be an advanced practitioner in poultry medicine. Beth’s clinical work is split between our Cheshire and Shropshire practices.
